Obama Wins
I have just been amazed at some of the criticism that President Obama has received over his handling of the humanitarian crisis in Syria. I am even more amazed at the most perfect resolution to the Syrian Crisis: the surrendering of the internationally outlawed chemical weapons. There could not have been a better outcome.
There seems to be no appreciation of what President Obama has accomplished. Senator Corker has told a media reporter that the president has lost his credibility and is “very uncomfortable being commander in chief.” Senators John McCain and Lindsey Graham have essentially said that the Syria deal “does nothing to resolve the real problem in Syria” and allows President Bashar al-Assad to “go on slaughtering innocent civilians and destabilizing the Middle East.”
I believe I understand all the criticism; it is a natural reaction when someone is smarter than all his enemies put together. I don’t think President is lucky; if he were lucky, he wouldn’t have to put up with the likes of Corker, McCain and Graham. I think President Obama was brilliant and so much smarter than all his critics that if they possessed any intelligence, they would know how wrong they have been and would hang their heads in shame. Or maybe they could do what their mommas taught them; just apologize and try to do better the next time.
I do not think President is always right, but I do think he was right this time. Further, he has not put any American troops in harm’s way, nor has he killed any innocent civilians.
Thank you President Obama. You were better than your critics. You outfoxed the Russian chess player, Putin.
As we say in the South, “You did real good!”
